A Regular Work Shift (Decima)

Early skies come a new day

Of moving carts and lifting pallets

Destroying wood with mallets

And throwing away plant trays

All for a $16 hourly pay

Midday comes with a forklift

Restocking items with more lift

From boxes, paint buckets, to wood

I did as much as I could

But that’s the end of my shift

I feel as though you did a great job at creating an image for the reader. With all the actions, it kind of reminds me of how I work. Also, I can feel the emotion, the tiredness throughout. It feel as though you are tired, ready to go home and get some rest as you say "But that's the end of my shift." Almost as if you shrugged everything off.

This poem was so relatable that I was nodding along to word. I can feel your bordem at work. I thought it flowed perfectly, and your rhyming never made me bored or disinterested. Big fan of the ending "Because that's the end of my shift" I thought it was an excellent way to cap off this short but very relatable poem. I enjoyed it. Great job.
