Ode To Woman

I am small.

But my mind grew in power.

I am stubborn.

But my actions speak louder than words.

I am girl.

I am the knight in shining armour.

I am the speak up for yourself.

I’m every woman.

Why does being a woman mean you can’t defend yourself?

Why does being a woman mean you need saving?

Princesses don’t need to get saved in the end by a man in armour.

I am power.

Ashley, I love how your poem manages to speak to a singular woman as yourself and also speaks volumes to universal women across the world. You managed to put down what all women are thinking into an artistic form, and I greatly appreciate this work of art that you shared. <3

The way you define yourself as stronger than what society views women is powerful and I love it! When you referred to yourself as "a knight in shining armour" it reminded me of an anime character. The character is "King Arthur" but is a woman, yet her being a woman doesn't stop her from being known as one of the strongest warriors. I think your poem resembles that character's energy.

I really enjoyed reading your poem. It shows so much power you show how much power a woman could have and is no need for a man. I also like the format it caught the attention and kept the reader to continue reading.
