Emotional analogy (decima)

He, who, grew up, reminisces

What times he had as an infant

Through the rain with joy, passion

Now he views the rain as sorrow

Drops of drizzle, down the window

As each one passes, a tear falls

What’s the purpose of emotion?

To feel how you feel at your best,

To feel how you feel present day,

Like a lovely sunset, at rest.

Hi Raiyan! Your Poem was great! I have never heard of a decima poem before, but Im glad that yours is the first Ive read. I like that you walked through your poem as if you were reliving and processing the emotions as if you were feeling them as you wrote. I think poetry can often be very deep and centering, but also evoke emotions of sadness. I feel like you address that factor in your poem without directly referencing poetry. I feel like none of what I said made sense, and if not, just know your poem was great lol! I look forward to reading more of your work in the future!

I really love your poem. My favorite thing in the world is rain and I like how you used the rain to show your emotions and your emotional maturity. But, the sunset line has to my favorite! It's a beautiful way to wrap up your poem and continue using personification. Great Job!
