It all goes down (List Poem)

At first it was just thoughts

Something I paid no mind too

Second, it was stress and anxiety

Third, I wasn’t eating or drinking

Fourth, I couldn’t sleep anymore

Fifth, I stopped checking my emails

Sixth, I stopped talking to my friends

Seventh, I was on the balcony all the time

Eighth, I had accepted my new fate

Ninth, I was pulled out.

I really liked the format of your poem. How you organized to describe a part of the person that you are. It caught my attention because it was a list format and it just made me want to continue reading more. To figure out what happened next, what was tenth?

Chisom, you took something we use in our day-to-day lives and made it deep-rooted and personal. I found it relatable because I too make internal lists in my mind when things may be"going down". It's a coping mechanism of sorts. It's a battle that too many people face, and I'm facing too trying to adapt to the quarrels of young adult-hood and college.

I enjoyed reading this and appreciate how it was written. It conveyed an intense feeling just from reading, and it immediately was interesting from the first line.
